Dear 6th Grade Families,

We are finishing up our work with The Misfits using the Notice & Note fiction signposts and See-Think-Wonder strategies for annotating and creating inferences. Scholars will then study character development and dramatic structure they can identify from the novel. We will then turn to our non-fiction unit, reading Hidden Figures.

Science - Ms. Acevedo - yacevedo@motthall2.org

6R/6B - Ms. Alalouf - malalouf@motthall2.org

Reminders & Suggestions

  • PupilPath logins have been sent home last month. Check your scholar’s PupilPath account for missing assignments and remind them to check regularly on their own. Missing assignments will be accepted up to ten (10) school days after they are due for partial credit. Math assignments will only be accepted the following day. Turning in missing work is much better than receiving a 0. If your scholar loses their password they can get it from Ms. Robbins.
  • Please make sure your child returns their signed Report Card to their Advisory teacher
  • Mott Hall II families are encouraged to take advantage of our Ashley Farms fundraiser!  All the money you raise will be used for your scholar's individual end of year trip!  Some scholars have successfully used this fundraiser to go on our end of year trips for FREE!  To access the registration form, CLICK HERE.  Please contact the PTA if you have any questions.
  • Support the City Harvest Food Drive - We need your support!! The counseling team is currently holding a food drive on behalf of City Harvest. We are in need of canned foods, canned peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and more! We are collecting canned and boxed food in room 507B  (the technology room) AND room 410, Mrs Gorman's office. With your help, we can help feed those families in need. Please support this drive and bring in your canned food! If you have any questions about what to bring in, please see the counseling team!
  • Scholars are required to bring in an independent reading book to school every day!  This is important!  Scholars have reading after lunch multiple times a week.  They are usually required to read the independent reading book during this period.  Please have them come to school prepared and on time.

Sincerely,

6th Grade Team (Acevedo, Alalouf, Breach, Nam, Tapada, Yang)
